A CLEARING IN THE DISTANCE was composed in 2014 for Robert Botti in homage to Frederick Law Olmstead, preeminent American landscape architect who designed New York City's Central Park and Prospect Park, among many other locations. "A Clearing in the Distance" is the title of Witold Rybczynski's outstanding biography of Olmstead.
