String Trio for George Crumb commissioned for 2004 Oregon Bach Festival
In celebration of the 75th birthday of American composer
George Crumb, the
Oregon Bach Festival
Composers Symposium commissioned several new works to be premiered on three concerts on July 2 and 3, 2004, by
Third Angle New Music Ensemble at the Oregon Bach Festival in Eugene, Oregon. Greg Bartholomew was commissioned to write a string trio for violin, viola and cello. Bartholomew's "String Trio for George Crumb" was premiered in concert at10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Beall Hall, at the University of Oregon, Eugene.
